Entry Process: Both pre-entries and day-of-race entries are acceptable. You should submit pre-race entries by Tuesday, November 13, to Kenny Emerick at ken123e@aol.com. Teams should send an e-mail which lists:
- your team name, team number, coach/manager name, coach/manager phone and e-mail, and
- an alphabetical team roster (men and women separate) and age for each athlete, and their USATF or Athletics Canada membership number (open and masters runners must be USATF or AC members).
Entry Fees: Please mail your entry fee check to ProMotion Events, P.O. Box 31789, Seattle, WA 98103, by Tuesday, November 13. Make checks payable to "Club Northwest."
Men's teams | $50 per team (before 11/13) | Women's teams | $50 per team (before 11/13) | Unattached athletes | $10 per athlete (before 11/13) | Teams with fewer than five members | $10 per athlete (before 11/13) | Turkey Trot | $2 per person or $5 per family
$1 for athletes competing in earlier races |
Please enter before the deadline – although we will accept day of race entries, it makes everything go more smoothly to have entries in advance, and entries after November 13 will require an additional $5 per person entered (except for community races).
Registration: Number pickup will be at the picnic shelter below the start/finish lines. At this time we will ask teams to declare their scoring members and scratch any non-competing runners.
Eligibility: Although foreign individuals and teams are welcome here, they are not permitted to compete in the USA Fall Cross Country Nationals in Ohio, on Saturday, December 8. All USA open and masters entrants must have or purchase on-site a current USATF membership – we do not accept "pending!" Join USATF online today!
Scoring:
Open Teams | 5 score out of 8 declared | M40+, M50+ Teams | 5 score out of 8 declared | Other Masters Teams | 3 score out of 5 declared |
Results: Results will be prepared at the shelter and made available to teams. Awards will be presented immediately following compilation of the men's results, and as soon as results are compiled for the Turkey Trot. Results will be posted at the Club Northwest website and the PNTF Results web page shortly after the meet.
Awards & Prizes:
1st | 2nd | 3rd | 4th | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Open Teams | $200 | $150 | $125 | $100 |
Note: Only Northwest Region USATF clubs are eligible for awards and prizes in these championships.
Winning open teams will receive partial funding to help assist them in attending the 2007 USATF National Club Cross Country Championships in Ohio. Receipt of the funding is contingent upon attending the Fall Nationals.
There will be special awards for the Canadian-American Masters Challenge Cup provided by the PNTF Masters Committee.
For the Turkey Trot, we will have a number of turkeys, pumpkin pies, and assorted other holiday goodies to give to the best finishers and predictors, and at random throughout the field.
Facilities: There are no facilities for lockers or showers at Lower Woodland Park, although facilities are available at East Green Lake, about two miles away. Bathrooms are adjacent to the registration area. Picnic shelters may be rented from the Seattle Parks & Recreation Department, 206/684-4080.
Calls: First call will be 15 minutes before the start times. Runners need to be ready on the line no later than five minutes before race time.
Start & Finish: The starting line, end of each 2km loop, and finish line are all on the hillside above the registration area. The finish line is on the hillside above the registration area and directly below the start. It will be clearly marked with a banner and clock.
Courses: Because nationals have been using a 2000m loop for races in most years, we created a new 2000m loop at Upper Lower Woodland in 2005. This loop is expertly monitored and controlled. Splits will be called at each km mark and miles will be marked. The course will be moderately rolling and challenging. Course map
Volunteers: Although we receive assistance from PNTF Officials and Club Northwest, all volunteers are welcomed! Contact Tom Cotner at oc1320@gmail.com to sign up to assist us!
